The Problem

The Feed Breaks, or Misses Things
You're closing a client on Friday and the Llyods feed stops syncing, or it drops a pending charge that posted later at a different amount. The PDF is the actual record. The feed is only an approximation.

Still Typing Transactions by Hand?
A client hands over a year of Llyods bank statement PDFs and you start re-keying into a spreadsheet. It takes hours, and one missed digit throws off the whole reconciliation. Most tools that fix this make you upload sensitive client data to someone else's servers. You shouldn't have to choose between speed and where your clients' data ends up.
How it works
Llyods format
From a Llyods bank statement in PDF to clean Excel, CSV or QBO file
Llyods bank statements are built to be read by people, not parsed by software, which is exactly why copy-paste falls apart. Docubrew is built around the Llyods layout so the data lands clean.

01
The money columns do not stay in one place
Lloyds uses more than one statement layout. The issued statement, with a statement number at the top, runs Money Out before Money In; the downloaded and print-friendly ones run In first.
02
The payment type code moves column between them
On the issued statement the type code sits second, ahead of the details. On the downloaded and print-friendly layouts it sits third. Docubrew reads it as the payment type either way.
03
The closing balance row is a totals row in disguise
On the issued statement, STATEMENT CLOSING BALANCE carries the period's Money Out and Money In totals beside the balance, so it looks like a transaction. Docubrew leaves it and the opening row out.
04
Details wrap onto a second line
On the issued statement, Faster Payment rows run to a second line: a timestamp under an FPO, a long reference under an FPI. Docubrew re-stitches the wrapped lines into one Details cell
05
A second date hides in the details, but only sometimes
On the issued statement, a debit card's own date appears inside Details, but only when the payment fell on a weekend or a Bank Holiday, so some rows carry a second date and others do not.
06
Overdrawn balances are written two different ways
The issued statement prints an overdrawn balance as 155.29 OD, with no minus sign. The downloaded statement prints -188.56 instead. Docubrew reads both as a negative balance.

Output
What you get: a clean,
structured data in three formats
Docubrew exports an Excel workbook (.xlsx), a CSV, or a QBO file with one row per transaction. Each row carries the fields you actually reconcile against.
Transaction date (normalised to MM/DD/YYYY)
Payment type
Details / payee (reassembled when it wraps)
Money out and Money in in separate columns
Balance
Account number, sort code and statement period

One clean output, everywhere you need it
Take .xlsx if you want a workbook that opens straight into Excel, formatting intact. Take CSV for Google Sheets, Xero, FreshBooks, and most accounting software that accepts CSV bank transactions. Take QBO for the QuickBooks bank feed. Whichever you pick, it's a clean import, not a live connection, so you stay in control of what goes into the books.

How to download your Llyods bank statement as a PDF
Lloyds' CSV export works in Internet Banking, not the app, covers the last 12 months, and caps each download at about 90 days and 150 transactions. Statements go back 7 years online and at least 10 in the app, as PDFs.

FAQ
Answers to your questions
How do I convert a Llyods bank statement to Excel, CSV or QBO?
Upload your Lloyds PDF statement to Docubrew, let the rule-based parser extract every transaction, and download the result as an Excel workbook, a CSV, or a QBO file for QuickBooks. On the desktop app the entire process runs on your own computer, so your statement is never uploaded anywhere.
Does Lloyds let you download bank statements as Excel or CSV?
Not the statement itself. Lloyds issues it as a PDF, and keeps 7 years of them in Internet Banking and at least 10 in the app. There is a CSV or QIF export, but it is a transaction list rather than the statement, it only works in Internet Banking, not the app, it reaches back 12 months, and each download caps at roughly 90 days and 150 transactions. A tax year takes about five downloads.
For the formal statement, or anything older than a year, you are working from the PDF, and a converter like Docubrew is the reliable way to get that data into Excel, CSV or QBO.
Does Docubrew handle every Lloyds bank statement layout?
Yes. Lloyds bank statements come in more than one layout, and they order their columns differently. The issued statement, with a statement number and issue date at the top, runs Date, Pmnt Type, Details, Money Out, Money In, Balance. Other Lloyds statements run Date, Description, Type, Money In, Money Out, Balance, with the money columns reversed and the type code in a different position.
A converter that keys on column position gets one of them backwards and turns money in into money out. Docubrew reads the headers, so every layout produces the same clean output.
How accurate is the conversion?
Docubrew is near-perfect on digital (text-layer) PDF bank statements, the kind you download straight from Lloyds. Every conversion ends with a preview step, so you can check the rows before you download. Nothing reaches your books unseen.
Can it convert scanned Lloyds bank statements?
Docubrew currently processes text-layer (native digital) bank statements in PDF, the kind you download straight from Lloyds Internet Banking. Scanned and image-based PDF support is on the near-term roadmap. If that is blocking your workflow, contact us at support@docubrew.com and we will let you know when it ships.
Do you convert Lloyds credit card statements?
Not yet. Docubrew currently handles Lloyds deposit-account statements, the current account and savings statements you download from Internet Banking. Credit card statement support is not available yet. If you need it, contact us at support@docubrew.com so we can gauge demand.
Is it safe to convert my bank statement here?
Yes. The desktop app parses your file entirely on your own machine, so nothing is uploaded or stored. The cloud option encrypts every upload and deletes files automatically within 24 hours.
Does it work with QuickBooks and Xero?
Yes. For QuickBooks you can export a QBO file and upload it straight to the bank feed. For Xero, Sage, FreeAgent, FreshBooks, and most other accounting software, the CSV imports directly. If you would rather work in a spreadsheet first, take the Excel workbook. Either way it is a clean import, not a live connection, so you stay in control of what goes into the books.
Can I convert several Lloyds bank statements at once?
Yes. Batch processing lets you upload dozens of statements in a single run and download each result as its own file. It is built for firms reconciling multiple clients each month, so you are not converting one PDF bank statement at a time.
How is this different from other bank statement converters?
Docubrew offers both a desktop app for local processing and an encrypted cloud option. Many converters are cloud-only, and others make you choose desktop or cloud up front. If you need control over where each client's data is processed, that per-job flexibility matters.
